“Nice. Someone left a half-smoked cigar.” Picking it up in disgust, I was about to throw it away.
“Perfect, I don’t have to buy one. It’s the only thing I needed to get.” Ron said.
“You’re not smoking this!”
“No, for the Christmas card. Cousin Eddie has a cigar. I think he has it in his mouth, but I’ll just hold it.”
Genius! Of all times for someone to leave a cigar, this was perfect. Never before in our camping adventures have we discovered a cigar. But today we did. Yes, I do believe God is intimately involved in our lives. He even provides the necessary props at the appropriate time
Newport News Park, only miles from our house, was the perfect location for our project. Site B45, Ron’s favorite, was available for the weekend. Finding the best backdrop was challenging. Several practice photos later, we found the lighting we needed.
“The Shitters full. The shitters full. The shitters full.”.
Ron said as we waited for the timer to snap the photo. Beautiful, crisp fall day, the sun was rapidly taking the shadow away from us. My smile came naturally listening to hubby. Getting the dogs to look at the lens, always a challenge.
Eventually, we agreed on two pictures for the card. Because of the lens flare in the first picture, we chose the second. You can tell he’s talking, which became the deciding factor.
Lens flare was a problem.. Winning photo.
